Mark (Dude) Cockerill - humble songwriter

Music from the last 6 years to about a year ago

These are all completed works, some are a little rougher than others and were generally composed and recorded in less than 8 hours each. Apart from Nine Million Bicycles which was still recorded by me but composed by Make Batt (info for our international friends who may not yet have heard the song). And of course Rock N Roll Trilogy which was created over some 4 days with very little sleep, so excited was I.

The selection of work here are all songs and no instumentals, I have written many instrumentals and some of these can now be found in their own section of my website.

Please enjoy my music:--.

Written on 22nd August 2008, first song to feature the new Line 6 M13 effects pedal and not really designed for direct recording but worked fine just the same and as such there are no synths on this track all you hear is the M13 effects on a guitar, amazing. Vocals completely re done on 26th Aug since it was a bit pitchy in places, probably still is.

re recorded with Cubase 4, on 20th August 2008 new drum/bass tracks. Although not a new song, I thought it was worth re doing, hope you enjoy this new version.

I was on a roll when I conceived the idea to do this mega piece. Written between 3rd and 7th March 2006   warning this is 13 1/2  minutes long. Guitars, all Variax 700 using the Fender Telecaster Model through Pod XT Marshall Plexi 45 and nothing else just various degrees of grunt. To date, I have yet to better this piece, it says everything about me. Vocalist, guitarist, music man whatever. you decide.

written 2nd March 2006 - Vocals completely re done on 21st March (Drums redone 24th Feb 08)

written 1st March 2006, kind of 60s vibe.

Oct 2005   Still a favourite for many.

6th November 2006 with drum track re done by Mr Billy Fisher of Nottingham (Many thanks)

Oct 2005 This is my version of an original song written by Mike Batt which was performed by Katie Melua on her chart topping album Piece By Piece

2005      It certainly does

2005     The original. Floating on a Dream is my daughter's fave track and I still regard it as one of my better songs.

2004   Erm! Very positive song about death

2003   Phasing guitars at the end, whirly woosh.

2003  Experimenting with harmonic minor scales

2003   An attempt at a lurv tune

2003   Rock with a bit of rap (sort of)
